YUIHIME PATTERN.
The source of inspiration is “真田紐 Sanadahimo”, used to wrap Japanese traditional wooden boxes for art works.
When I first saw Sanadahimo, I was shocked (in a good way of course), I could only see it as ribbon earrings... Haha!
If you can't tie it properly, you may not be able to protect your valuable antiques, but if you tie it too tightly, it will be difficult to put it in and take it out. There is an Japanese aesthetic sense for the finishing of wrapping for delicate potteries or porcelains in wooden boxes.
In July 2022, I was fascinated by this indescribable Japanese esprit and wanted to create them as earrings.
First of all, like “真田紐 Sanadahimo”…
As a so-called ribbon which is a string-like fabric, I create glass beads ribbon by sewing.
Then, I tied the glass beads ribbon as a real bow.
As always, I have no idea to make my design deal, and it took a few months to create JULICA’s ribbon.
The material is only Japanese glass beads and threads.
I select beautiful cut glass beads & glossy feel glass beads. That’s why they have a clear air as “glass”, sparkling so beautifully.
And they are so light. Weight is very very important for
comfortable wear.
At the same time, I create JULICA's signature bonbon earrings too. They also matches the color of new ribbons.
BONBON are made by setting crystals one by one in a sphere made of natural materials.
Bonbons and ribbons are made from different materials, but what they have in common in the production process is
The aspect of "wrapping something".
Art works and antiques are beautiful, precious and valuable, so wrap them with 真田紐 Sanadahimo.
As for princess, very carefully.

YUIHIME PATTERN.
インスピレーション源は、美術品が包まれる木製の箱、
共箱(ともばこ)を結ぶ「真田紐 さなだひも」。
縦糸と横糸で平たい紐に織られて作られる真田紐をはじめて目にした衝撃と言ったら！
リボンイヤリングにしか見えませんでした・・・あはは！
きちんと結べないと大事な骨董品が守れないかもしれない、かといってきつく結びすぎても出し入れがしにくくなる、と言う繊細さ。繊細な陶器や陶磁器を木箱に仕舞うという包みの仕上げが、美しい結びである、と言う美意識。
このなんとも言えない日本人らしい和のエスプリに魅了され、イヤリングとして昇華させたいと思ったのが、2022年7月。
まずは真田紐のように。
いわゆるリボン、つまりひも状の織物 として、日本製の繊細なガラスビーズをステッチ技法で縫い込んで作り・・・
そこから本当にリボンをつくるように結んで、仕上げました。
毎度のことながら、デザインの完成形は頭にあるのに作り方がわからない。今回も納得がいくリボンに仕上がるまで、数ヶ月要しました。
素材は、国産ガラスビーズ・糸、のみ。
ガラスビーズはカットが際立って美しいもの、ツヤ感がぷっくりしているものを選んでいるので、「ビーズはビーズでもやっぱりガラスなんだ！」と感じるきらめき具合。
そしてシンプルな材料である分、驚くほど軽く仕上がりました。重さはつけ心地につながるので、とても大事なことです。
同時に、JULICAスタート当時からのシグネチャーであるボンボンイヤリングも、リボンの色合いに合わせた新しいカラーを作りました。
BONBON ボンボン は、自然素材から成る球体に、クリスタルを1粒1粒セッティングして作ります。
ボンボンとリボン、素材は違えど、制作過程で共通しているのは
「何かを包み込む」という面。
美術品・骨董品が美しくて貴重で価値あるものだからこそ真田紐で大切に包むように。
